What Types Of Watermarks Should You Use?

← All Articles

Cam models use a wide variety of watermarks on their material. Watermarks help prevent theft of their content, and it also provides viewers with a direct link to the model’s website or original video. Fortunately, watermarking your material does not have to be very difficult, and you can do it with basic software. Logos and text are always great options, though cam models tend to stay away from animated logos that might be distracting.

Avoid White Text

One of the first things you should know about choosing a watermark is that you need to pay attention to white space and text. If you post your watermark over the white space, the text will not show up. In fact, this can happen any time you have clashing colors. As a result, you may want to have several of the same watermark in different colors.

Avoid Long URLs

Long URLs make for ugly watermarks, and they may not be as effective if they don’t pack the same punch as a smaller name or logo. You want to choose a watermark that your client can easily type in, perhaps even a name or fun logo.

Avoid Very Tiny Watermarks

Remember that watermarks that are too small are very easy for thieves to remove or copy over. Your logo or watermark should be large enough to read and big enough that it cannot simply be removed.

Essentially, you have many choices for the kind of watermark you can use. Just make sure that you do not select a watermark that could harm your brand or that can be easily edited out of your video.
